Work, see Myke, sleep

Posted on Saturday, November 3rd, 2007 at 8:49pm.

My routine these days is so interesting and varied!

Wake up, dry clothes, go to work. Work. See Myke for a few hours. Go home, put clothes in the wash. Sleep.
Rinse and repeat.

My day off is slightly different:
Wake up, see Myke, go home, wash work clothes, sleep.

For the last two weeks, I’ve done 30+ hours a week. It’s nice money but I feel like crap at the end of it.

Things with me and Myke are going well – we’ll have been together officially for six weeks tomorrow. :) (Plus about a month of unofficially seeing each other!)
We’ll be going on holiday together for eight days on the 11th. I can’t wait!

Site stuff:

I know the database scripts are broken. At first, I thought it was a problem only some servers have but my scripts have stopped working on my site too. I don’t know why they’ve stopped working, therefore, I can’t currently fix the problem. I’m a little busy with work (hahahaha – a little!! I feel like death! I look like death!).
Anyway – for now, I’m taking them offline. ALL of them. Do not hand out your version of my scripts.
I’ll fix them when I have time and when I’m awake enough to not completely destroy the script. They will come back once they are fixed. :) Patience is a virtue.

Another Photoblog

Some photographs of the new stuff in my life. :P

New phone:
New phone! (Nokia N73)
It’s a Nokia N73. It’s not really a new phone – my dad owned it for about a year before deciding to just throw it away. I offered to take it off his hands for him and he agreed. So I got a new phone. :)

It has a 3.2 megapixel camera and it’s one of those ‘smart phones’.

It’s a lot easier to text on (the problem I had with my old phone is that it was a pain in the backside to text on!), except I keep accidentally sending texts before I’m ready…

Next up…

New hobby:
I decided about a month ago, that I wanted to knit myself a scarf for winter, since I can never find a scarf I like in the shops, which is also the right size for me (I like my scarfs LONG).
So, I bought some 7mm knitting needles, a scarf pattern and some scarf wool. And I started knitting a scarf. Since then, I’ve knitted four scarfs and I’m starting a ‘Christmas scarf’; a red scarf but it has white ends, haha.

The two scarfs I’ve knitted for myself:
Comparing
The blue/green scarf is taller than I am (I’m four foot ten) and the multi-coloured scarf is quite a bit taller than that…

New beanie babies:
I LOVE Beanie Babies but, up until recently, I haven’t had the money to expand my collection. Last week, I ventured into a gift shop and spied the Beanie Babies they had to offer and couldn’t resist five of them…
Pink Flamingo Beanie Baby
Irish Beanie Baby
Penguin Beanie Baby
Black Cat Beanie Baby
Tiger Beanie Baby

My mum bought this one for me a few weeks before:
Garfield Beanie Baby

I will, at some point, be taking photos of ALL of my Beanie Babies (since I have a couple of cool ones). :P

New pet:
Meet Bob
He’s called Bob. :) My last set of Cacti died and I’ve been pining for a new Cactus (they’re the only type of plant which stands a chance against me – I don’t have green fingers, I have black fingers. :( ).

New boyfriend:
The ‘cute smiley guy from work’ is my new boyfriend. The new boyfriend does indeed have a name – Myke.
I didn’t know his name for ages, so I just knew him as the ‘cute smiley guy’ – cause I thought he was cute and everytime I saw him, he was all smiley. And obviously, he’s a guy.

This is what the ‘cute smiley guy’ (Myke) looks like:
Li & Myke
He kinda looks more like a ‘cute sleepy guy’ in the picture…and I have my hair covering my face…and my teeth look HUGE but I still think this is a cute picture of us. :)

Also, on October 1st, I kind of got some new piercings and Myke was there to hold my hand (aww).

New Piercings
I got my anti-helix done (although they call it a ‘rook’ in Tribal Voice…which is a different piercing but nevermind…) and an orbital, designed to look like a snug piercing.

I couldn’t actually have a REAL snug piercing, so I got one to look like a snug piercing, because it’s my most favourite piercing.

The anti-helix is the most painful piercing I’ve had done so far. I couldn’t find many ‘reviews’ by people who’ve had that piercing, so had no idea what to expect in terms of pain.

All three holes appear to be healing nicely – I’ve had no ‘ouch’ pain (except for this morning (I slept on that ear at some point during the night) and when I tried to pull out the anti-helix ring in my sleep) and I’ve only had a little bit of crusting so far. They’re actually less problematic than the cartilage piercings I had done ten months ago! (Those stupid piercings STILL get sore sometimes!)

2 months on

Posted on Monday, October 1st, 2007 at 12:29pm.

Two months worth of updates in one entry? That’ll be stupidly long, so you all get a nice, short, easy to read list instead. Woo!

  • ‘My Sam’ is history. No more Sam! Yay! He ended up being such a w****r. I’m better off without him.
  • My 4 hours a week job has been upped to a 16 hours a week job! Yay! Money!!
  • There is this ‘cute smiley guy at work’!
  • The ‘cute smiley guy at work’ is now my boyfriend! And he’s awesome!
  • I really like my job.
  • I have a new phone!
  • My iPod Mini died! :( :( :(

I think that covers everything…

(Yes. I’m back.)

The Dentist

Posted on Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 at 6:42pm.

I went to the dentist on Thursday. Not happy.

First off, those wisdom teeth of mine? They’re apparently still in the bone of my jaw. When I went to the dentist with my abscess, why did she diagnose me with wisdom tooth pain when the wisdom teeth can’t move (there’s no room in my mouth!)?
And why did she tell me I’d ground down my wisdom teeth (I grind my teeth in my sleep), if they’re still in the bone?

The teeth that were causing the pain are my second set of molars. They started coming through when I was about twelve and have only just finished.

I’m being treated for a second abscess (in the same place as the last abscess). I had a lump between my teeth and inside of my lip but didn’t think it was another abscess.

She also told me that if I don’t stop smoking, I’ll lose my teeth within ten years. That, to me, sounds like a scare tactic.

I’m sick of doctors and dentists playing on the fact someone smokes.
You go to the doctor with an inflamed knuckle or athlete’s foot and they’ll try and blame it entirely on your smoking.
My feet are itchy!
That’s because you smoke!

I’m also sick of my dentist trying to tell me I don’t brush my teeth. I KNOW she’s a dentist and knows teeth much better than I do but I do brush my damn teeth.
I have never had a filling because I have never had a cavity. If I didn’t brush my teeth, I would have had many cavities.

So, to stop her moaning at me (until I get myself a NEW dentist), I’ve decided to stop drinking tea and have cut back on the cigarettes. :)
I now have one cup of tea in the morning and have cut back from thirty+ cigarettes a day, to ten. And I’ll keep cutting back until I’ve quit.
I can’t use patches because they make my heart race and the gum makes me want to throw up. So I’ll make my addiction more manageable to make it easier to go ‘cold turkey’.

There have been some differences…my tongue used to be yellow and it’s now pink. My gums aren’t as pale and I’ve got an appetite! I haven’t had one of those since before I started drinking tea!

(Sorry this entry is kind of all over the place. I take my tea with sugar and the lack of sugar is making it difficult for me to think clearly. I’ll be back to normal soon. :) )

I win, they lose

Posted on Monday, June 18th, 2007 at 6:42pm.

On the 11th, I made a post about a site using my feed to fill their site with content.
I tried adding a link to my site in my feed but the site was stripping the tags from the feed before displaying it on their site, so I made it so the feed would print out the URL to the entry.

Didn’t stop the site from knicking from my feed.

Then I got a comment from a fellow victim, who gave me the email address to contact the host’s abuse department.

So I wrote the abuse dept. an email saying that the site was ripping the feed from my site, here are the URLs to the stolen entries and here are the URLs to my original entries.
All I asked was that my content be removed from the site.

I got online today, to see a response from the hosting company: they’d removed the whole site.
Awesome. :) I’ve never had the ‘guts’ to contact a paid host before about one of their customers, heh.

My wisdom teeth are moving about (I can’t shut my mouth properly!) and have pushed some of my lower front teeth about. I’ve not only got the regular wisdom tooth pain, I’ve also got the pain you get when you’ve got braces and have had them tightened; where your teeth feel like they’re really loose and just really tender.

I’ve been in pain since Friday evening and it’s steadily gotten worse. I wasn’t able to get to sleep last night because of the pain…I think one of the teeth is sitting on a nerve or something because I’m getting shooting pains down the side of my face. :|

So…I will be visiting the evil dentist on Thursday. :)
