I had half a day booked off work, so I left work at 12 and got home around 1pm.
My sister’s all whiney – she wants to update her iPod and, even though I said she could use my laptop to do it, I’ve locked it so she can’t update it. And – of course – she NEEDS it!!1
So I back up both of our iPods (I don’t want to update mine yet [I can't wear headphones at the moment, so what's the point?] but I want to keep my music). Her iPod takes 5 minutes to back up, mine takes 15. I install iTunes. Load the music and videos back into it. Add the ONE SONG my sister so desperately NEEDS. Plug her iPod in and…it’s not compatible with iTunes 7.6, please upgrade to iTunes 8.
Anyway, there are problems; Bonjour service won’t bugger off and it won’t let me upgrade iTunes. I HATE BONJOUR.
Eventually and with Myke’s help, I finally manage to remove Bonjour and upgrade iTunes. It’s almost 5pm.
Instead of a “thank you”, I instead got whined at because it looked like she’d lost some of the songs she’d bought from the iTunes store before. And now I owe her money so she can buy them again.
Sure, I’ll pay her back. After she’s paid me for the lost four hours.

Wow.. That is truly is very, very ungrateful. You spend a lot of time trying to help her out.
Besides, she probably would’ve lost those songs as well if she had gone through all of these steps herself – it’s not as if you made them vanish, I’m sure.
And, why the hell would you update your iPod for just ONE song? O.o
Such is family, my sister is exactly the same. Hopefully one day they’ll realize how much we try to help them.
Until then, it’s rather rough at times.
And the fact that she’s so dependent on her ipod is a little much, she should have more sources for her music.
@Danielle: I know but it still gets to me. I can’t stand rudeness.
To be fair, she only has her iPod to listen to music on; she had a CD player but it broke, I had a CD player but she broke it and my mum’s always got her music playing on /her/ CD player.
@Marieke: if she had done it herself, she wouldn’t have thought to back her stuff up and would have lost all her music, including the songs she ripped off her albums.
I wouldn’t have bothered updating it but if I didn’t, she’d moan at our mum and then mum would have moaned at me…I thought I would get an easier life!!
I’ve updated my iPod for one song before…lol.
