What would you expect to happen if you were to take a paracetamol tablet that was one year and three months out of date?
I’d expect one of these things to happen:
- it would make me sick (most likely but my stomach could probably do with a spring clean… )
- it would be extra strong (perhaps it ages like wine – the older it is, the better it is? )
- nothing would happen
- it would act like a placebo^ (nothing would really happen but “mind over matter”; it would make me think that the pain’s gone)
At first, it made me feel kind of sick…then that passed and the pain went…but I don’t know whether it was stronger due to age or if it acted like a placebo…
