So, I’ve been on the Special K / Two Week Challenge diet for two weeks now.
Basically, for two weeks, you eat two bowls of Special K cereal (and it comes in ten different varieties, so there’s bound to be something you’d like…unless you don’t like cereal, in which case, I don’t think this is the diet for you.) a day, for two weeks. One for breakfast and one for EITHER lunch or dinner (or dinner or tea, if that’s what they’re called in your household).
You don’t have to change anything else; you can stick to midday snacks and your third meal can be full of calories but – honestly – you can’t expect to lose any weight that way.
For me, I had a bowl of Special K for breakfast and either some fruit (a banana) or a Special K snack bar for a snack around 11 o’clock. At lunch (any time I can be bothered to leave my desk, usually between 13:00 and 14:30), another bowl of Special K and another snack just before I leave work.
For my third meal, I’d have either some fish or chicken and some vegetables or I’d have soup or noodles or rice (basically, anything but Bad Things and I gave myself a limit of 600 calories).
I still drank fifty gajillion litres of tea a day (did you know that 100 millilitres of semi-skimmed milk has around 50 calories in it?).
I started off 2 stone 6lbs and 3/4 (of a pound) / 35lbs overweight. In the two weeks, I lost 4lbs.
That’s without exercise and I wasn’t having the recommended 30g bowls of cereal (I was having more like 60g…). The only Bad Thing I had over the two weeks was a pot of Rolo-youghurt-y stuff. Which really, was only 188 calories.
Not too shabby, methinks. Now I need to find myself a proper diet to rid myself of the remaining 2 stone 2lbs and 3/4 (of a pound) / 31lbs…
