About Lirae
My name is Carlee. Kinda like 'Carly' but spelt differently. For the record - 'Carlee' is how it's spelt on my BIRTH CERTIFICATE, it's not me trying to appear all cool and stuff.
I'm currently twenty two and my birthday is on June 30th.
My life started in Lisburn in Northern Ireland. I moved between Germany and England a few times between the ages of two and eleven. I now live in Plymouth in the South West of England and have done since I was eleven.
For most of 2007, I was a heavy smoker, unemployed and unhappily relationshipped with a git called Sam.
Now I am a recovering smoker, working as a cashier admin assistant and am happily relationshipped with a lovely bloke called Myke.
I'm a squishy compromise between fat and skinny, a 'cute' 4ft10 in height, with a-bit-longer-than-shoulder-blade-length brownish hair and blue eyes. I'm so pale, I make Casper look tanned.
I have sixteen piercings: one in my right nostril, one in my navel, six in my left ear^ and eight in my right ear^. I have two more holes planned for my left ear (a snug/orbital, to mirror the one in my right ear). I'd also like to get my first tattoo by the end of 2008 - an outline of a butterfly on the inside of my right wrist.
I used to dye my hair but stopped when my hair started falling out and I couldn't get my hair to go the colour I wanted; I bleached my hair, it came out ORANGE. I dyed it red (over the top of the orange colour I had goin' on) and I ended up with BRIGHT PINK hair. I dyed it a darker red and it came out BLACK.
I come across to people I don't know as unfriendly and untalkative. This is all wrong: I'm actually a very friendly person, I'm just shy. And I DO talk a lot but if I have nothing to say, then I'll keep my mouth shut.
I'm a nervous person who worries about pretty much ANYTHING and EVERYTHING and I've suffered from sleeping problems my entire life. As I've gotten older, the problem seems to have gotten worse.
I guess I'm kinda gross; I love picking scabs and feel that the best part of new piercings are the 'crusties' that form.
When I'm not working, sleeping trying to sleep or seeing Myke, I like to take photos of stuff^, watch TV (Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Family Guy, Prison Break, the Brittas Empire, South Park, etc) and bum around on Lappy.
I lead a rather uneventful life. This doesn't worry me as much as it probably should.
If you're wondering how I got "Lirae" as a nickname, it was given to me by Jezurae^, back when I was known simply as Li online (Li being an acceptable shortening of my real name and slightly more feminine than Lee).
Some Random Facts
Since I'm not articulate enough to have all these super interesting facts in paragraph format, you get to read them in a list format! Yay for lists!
- When I cut my toenails, I file them. Just like I do with my fingernails.
- "Put off today what you can do tomorrow" is my motto. :P
- Electrical items and I do not get on. They tend to stop working / explode / spontaneously combust when I attempt to use them.
- I named my laptops. The older one is called Dave and the newest one is called Lappy. The first one I got was called Vince. I also named my new digital camera - he's called Montgomery.
- I can't put yoghourt, ice cream, tomatoes, cooked mushrooms, Ready Break / porridge, Weetabix or soggy cerial into my mouth; these things make me retch / heave.
- I'm right handed but can only pour the kettle with my left hand.
- My favourite animals are meerkats^.
- I'm scared of dogs and I'm not sure why, as I don't think I've ever been bitten by one.
- I am extremely jumpy; a sudden noise, randomly being touched, etc all makes me jump.
- My septum is in my right nostril (I broke my nose on a bed when I was three).
- I have no sense of smell. (I don't know if it's related to the wonky septum, though.)
- I really cannot cook; I managed to set fire to the kitchen while attempting to make vegetable spring rolls. When I was 18.
- I recently started a collection of Beanie Babies^
- I like to pose old teddies and take photos of them^.
- I can do strange things with my fingers^.
