Day out with Sam

Posted on Saturday, February 26th, 2011 at 9:55pm.

I met a girl called Sam through my workplace in December. She’s my mini-me (who’s taller than me) and although she recently found a new job, we’ve stayed in contact. ‘Cause, seriously, this girl is cool. And apparently, a bad influence on me too.

We arranged to meet up this afternoon and have lunch at a place called “Buffet City”, which is a Chinese restaurant…but an “all you can eat” buffet.
We both managed two small plates before we decided we were full and left.

We started wandering around the city centre, not sure what to do but just chatting while we walked along.
And the subject turned to piercings…and I think you probably have a good idea where this is going…

I wanted to go into my usual piercing place to get a new lip ring and so off we went. As we walked in, Sam’s all “Hmm, I REALLY want a new piercing. Do you know if they have any piercings for £20 or less?”. I didn’t, so we went to the counter. Sam looked down the list and found the piercing she had really wanted for a few months and it was in her price range. I was innocently enquiring about some of the piercings I was kinda interested in getting at some point.

Well, between Sam and the person on the counter, I got talked into getting a piercing I’ve wanted for about…two years?

Long story short: I am now the proud owner of a septum piercing^.

After we got pierced, most of the shops in the city centre had closed, so we decided to go home.

The jewellery I’m wearing in my new piercing is a horseshoe ring and it’s flipped up, so no one can see it. It’s a ninja piercing. :)
I’ll put photos up when the piercing is healed enough for me to be happy pulling the jewellery down.

Something good, quickly followed by something bad

Posted on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011 at 9:46pm.

On Friday, I had to take an exam for my level 2 NVQ in Accounting. I walked in shaking like a leaf.
It was a three hour exam and I completed it in an hour. I passed – woohoo!

On Monday, my bottom front teeth started aching. I thought it was due to me grinding my teeth in my sleep the night before but the aching in one particular tooth just got worse.
I have ANOTHER abscess.

So after the high of passing the exam I seriously thought I would NEVER pass, I was quickly brought down to Earth by this stupid bloody abscess I haven’t been able to get rid of since 2005.

Pain relief isn’t working very well at the moment but I have an emergency dental appointment tomorrow at 1:40pm, so there”s hope that it won’t get much worse.

I’m just SO sick of this recurring abscess.

Annoying the drunks

Posted on Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 at 6:50pm.

I live fairly close to a pub and so I get a few drunk people walking past my house at random hours in the night.

Some of them are nice, happy drunks. The kind who just totter along, singing to themselves.
Then there are the others, who have obviously had an argument with someone recently and are muttering angrily away to themselves while they stagger home.

When I get the second type of drunks staggering past my house, I like to sneakily and quietly open my bedroom window and then SLAM it shut. I almost always get a “Oh, f*** off!” or a “F*** you too!”.

And then I giggle to myself and go back to sleep.
